My current watercolor artwork aims for close observation and extending flow state. I try to paint locations, often abstracted, that hold personal meaning—sites I return to repeatedly, tracing their changes across time. Conscious of the beholders share, I hope that the strong emotions I feel in these environments transcend the image and allow the viewer to sense what is beneath the place. My artistic journey has moved through many mediums: from documentary and landscape photography to ceramics and ironwork, and finally to watercolor. Each discipline has shaped how I see.
