Having grown up on Orr’s Island, I studied graphic design at Pratt Institute. I went on to become a commercial artist and art director in Maine, before becoming a full-time painter 20 years ago. I am both a plein air and studio painter and enjoy depicting the simple beauty of Maine coast life. My “raison d’être” is to beautify my surroundings through my art, as well as through gardening. My inspiration comes from having a special feeling about my subject, its color and design. I also teach painting and exhibit at Sarah Greenier Gallery in Bath.
