I think artists’ statements are a bit like wine labels. You can spend time reading the labels or just drink the wine.
My work reflects my intuitive reaction to a scene or idea. This involves combining color, shape and line through a process that is somewhat inexplicable. Inspiration for my painting can be anything from the mundane to the beautiful. The viewer can then bring his or her own interpretation or reaction to the results. Not every creation connects to its original idea. Often different concepts and representations emerge.
If I had to describe my work in two words it would be “imaginative realism”.
